Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on Saturday said that Prime Minister Imran Khan cannot deceive the people of Pakistan by calling an ‘unconstitutional and illegal’ National Assembly session.
Prime Minister Imran Khan will seek vote of confidence in the National Assembly today in an apparent move to counter the opposition’s ability to challenge the legitimacy of his government.
While talking outside the Parliament Lodges in Islamabad along with former interior minister Ahsan Iqbal and PML-N Spokesperson Marriyum Aurangzeb, the former prime minister said that we have to fight these thieves on every forum.
“President Alvi should tell if he told Imran Khan that he lost his majority and take a vote of confidence,” he said. “People of Pakistan have given the mandate. This is an unconstitutional session”
“Did you whisper in Imran Khan’s ear or did you ask in writing,” Abbasi asked President Alvi adding that the NA speaker should also tell if he received any letter regarding the vote of confidence.
Scuffle between PTI workers and PML-N leaders
A scuffle between the PML-N leaders and PTI-I workers broke out after the press conference. PML-N spokesperson Marriyum Aurangzeb accused PTI workers of verbally abusing her.
“We will not let this hooliganism continue,” she said. “Where is the interior minister who said that we won’t let them stand here. You think I am weak. We are here and you have fled.”
Expressing her resolve she added that we will continue to fight these power, sugar and wheat thieves.
PML-N’s Musadik Malik asked whether this was the state of Medina Imran had promised where women are not safe.
“Marriyum Aurangzeb was attacked and abused,” he lamented
“Where was the police of the state of Madina when all this was happening,” he questions.
He said these hooligans have fled and left the puppet premier on his own.
