Imran Khan News Live Updates: Former PM says he was set up ‘death trap’ in Islamabad court when he last attended

Pakistan’s ousted Prime Minister Imran Khan has petitioned the country’s Chief Justice to allow him to join court proceedings via video link in cases brought against him, claiming he could be killed if he makes a physical statement.

In a letter to Pakistan’s Chief Justice Umar Atta Bandial on Monday, the embattled PTI chief also urged him to pound on the cases registered against him.

“A death trap was set up at the Federal Court Complex, Islamabad, last Saturday, where I had to attend a hearing in the Toshakhana gift case. Some 20 namaloom afraad (unknown persons), a reference to the men from the intelligence agencies, were present at the compound to kill me,” Khan said during an address to the nation on Monday.
