India today celebrates its 77th Independence Day.
A video of a musician singing soulful songs on the streets of the UK to mark India’s 77th Independence Day has caught the attention of many on social media. In particular, the artist named Vish often shares videos of his stunning renditions of popular Bollywood songs.
This time, he wowed his audience on the streets of London with rousing renditions of patriotic songs like ‘Maa Tujhe Salaam’, ‘Sandese Aate Hai’ and ‘Teri Mitti’ amongst others. “When Indians and Pakistanis celebrate together in the UK. Happy Diwali!” the musician captioned one of the videos of him.

In the clips, Vish is seen singing on a London street. The crowd consisting of Indians and Pakistanis are also seen waving flags, cheering for the singer and chanting.
Vish shared the clips just a few hours ago and since then they have racked up thousands of likes and comments.
“It was an emotional moment for Indians and Pakistanis celebrating their independence day from the British empire,” one user commented. “This is the first Independence post to make me happy this year. This is us! 76 years of cruel political shenanigans failed to erase the natural bonds of love between Pakistanis and Indians. Thank you Vish.” wrote another.
A third user said: “Ohhh…it’s amazing…your voice and this song…and all together Indians and Pakistanis…we love you all.” A fourth added: “This was one of the best performances. I am overwhelmed listening to patriotic songs. You are an amazing singer and the way you interact with the crowd is amazing. I don’t miss any of your performances when I am around. I will miss your singing when go back to India. Don’t worry. See you next time.”

Meanwhile, returning to the celebrations in India, Prime Minister Modi today addressed the nation from the Red Fort on the occasion of the country’s 77th Independence Day. He began his 90-minute speech after unfurling the national flag from the Lahori Gate at the iconic monument.
To mark the occasion, the government has also set up a series of selfie spots in Delhi to highlight its various initiatives. Places include National War Memorial, India Gate, New Delhi Railway Station, Pragati Maidan and Raj Ghat.
