Bangladesh finally became the first team to beat India in the ongoing Asia Cup on Friday in the final Super 4 match in Colombo. The result would have little impact on the team’s campaign, as India had already reached the final and Bangladesh had been eliminated due to defeats in their previous two matches.
However, for the men in blue, Friday’s defeat meant that Rohit Sharma and Co failed to become the highest-ranked ICC team in all formats. India are already the number one ranked Test and T20I team, but after Friday’s game they ended up with an ICC team rating of 116 in ODIs. Australia (118) maintained first place.
