NEW DELHI, Nov 17 (Reuters) – India’s transport ministry will observe international ministry recommendation when deciding whether or not to permit a ship carrying Russian oil that has been positioned beneath U.S. sanctions to berth at an Indian port, the nation’s transport regulator mentioned.
America on Thursday imposed sanctions on three maritime corporations and three vessels owned by them for transport Russian oil bought above a worth cap imposed by the Group of Seven nations, as Washington seeks to shut loopholes within the mechanism designed to punish Moscow for its battle in Ukraine.
“The port entry rule doesn’t particularly debar a vessel from berthing at any port,” Shyam Jagannathan, director common of the Directorate Basic of Transport advised reporters at an business occasion.
