Ashwin’s father Ravichandran on his son’s five hundredth Check wicket: ‘Turning level was his mom’s concept to change to spin bowling due to wheezing’
Chatting with the media on the finish of second day’s play, R Ashwin devoted his five hundredth Check wicket to his father. “It’s been fairly an extended journey. Firstly I’d wish to dedicate this feat to my father. He’s been with me by means of thick and skinny, in all probability had a heart-attack each time he’s watched me play. His well being has in all probability gone for a toss due to that.” Ashwin’s father, Ravichandran, recollects his son’s journey, which began with tennis ball cricket on the streets of West Mambalam in Chennai.

My reminiscence jogs again to the times after I took him on my scooter to high school and for teaching. For a father to have a want or a dream is one factor. However for the son to purchase into it and make sacrifices is totally different. Ashwin made us stay a dream.
