India will continue to face terrorism, security forces united: Army chief

Army chief General Manoj Pande said on Tuesday India will continue to face terrorism and internal security future challenges and security the forces of the country will face them “unitedly”.

He was speaking after inaugurating the All India Police Commandos Contest organized by the federal contingency force National Security Guard (NSG) in their garrison at Manesar here.

Gen Pande said that new age technology has allowed the enemy to carry out its activities using drones, the Internet, cyberspace and social media.

General Pande said the “possibility” of terrorist attacks in the country cannot be ignored and praised intelligence and security forces for thwarting and disrupting a series of such designs and networks.

He praised the NSG, a federal counterterrorism force, for developing special skills in bomb detection and disposal, sniping, countering drones and coordinating effectively with other security agencies.

A total of 24 teams from various Central Armed Forces and state law enforcement agencies are taking part in the competition which ends on March 31.
