Washington: Indian-American non-profit organisations within the US have introduced the beginning of a $1 million (Rs 8.29 crores) fund to determine digital libraries in underserved communities in India.
Christened âUndertaking Umeedâ, the groundbreaking initiative to advertise schooling and digital literacy in rural India is being launched in partnership with Educate for Life, India Growth and Reduction Fund (IDRF), Guru Krupa Basis and SM Sehgal Basis.
To be applied by the SM Sehgal Basis on the bottom in India, Undertaking Umeed will leverage progressive know-how and infrastructure to determine totally outfitted digital libraries in distant villages, offering schoolchildren and neighborhood members with entry to computer systems, web connectivity, academic software program, and digital studying assets, a media launch mentioned.
