India’s Arvind Fashions to promote Sephora retail division to Ambani’s Reliance

BENGALURU, Nov 3 (Reuters) – Arvind Fashions (ARVF.NS) stated on Friday it would promote its magnificence manufacturers division, which retails merchandise of LVMH-owned (LVMH.PA) magnificence chain Sephora, to billionaire Mukesh Ambani’s retail unit Reliance Retail for 990.2 million rupees ($11.89 million).

The deal, which can enhance Reliance’s portfolio of worldwide manufacturers, comes months after native media reported that Sephora and Reliance Retail had deserted talks to kind a retail partnership for the Indian market.

Reliance launched its personal magnificence retail platform, Tira, in April to tackle the likes of Nykaa (FSNE.NS) and the Tata Group.

The deal was made at an enterprise worth of two.16 billion rupees, Arvind Fashions stated in a regulatory submitting.

Shares of Arvind Fashions surged 11.5% after the information, trimming some beneficial properties to final commerce up 7.3%.

The wonder division that hosted Sephora reported a income of three.37 billion rupees in fiscal 2023, or about 7.6% of Arvind Style’s whole income.
