Rising stars, Sicelo Buthelezi and Ntobeko Shishi, who play the roles of Teddy and Ntokozo respectively discuss their roles on Gomora, and starring alongside Mzansi’s talented stars.  Â
The actors opened up to Sowetan about the day they got calls from Gomora and how the roles changed their lives forever. Â
‘GOMORA’S’ SICELO BUTHELEZI AS TEDDY   Â
The talented duo has captivated audiences since the inception one of the award-winning Mzansi Magic telenovela.  Â
Buthelezi tells the publication that he still recalls the day he got a call in January last year from the show telling him that he got the part. Â
“I got a call, I don’t know from who specifically, but they said I got the role.â€
“And I was with a friend of mine and when I got that call he was the first person to be like, ‘Your life is about to change.â€Â Â
He plays the role of a troubled learner, Sibusiso “Teddy†Zondo, who’s got learning challenges due to foetal alcohol syndrome.  Â
The 22-year-old tells the publication that Teddy is the most fun person to play, because there are no limits to him.  Â
‘GOMORA’S’ NTOBEKO SHISHI AS NTOKOZO
Actor and TV personality, Ntobeko Shishi got his big break on screen in the SABC 2’s drama series, Signal High and shortly became a presenter on SABC 2’s youth show, Hectic Nine-9. Â
He auditioned for the role of Ntokozo Dlamini at the beginning of last year and says he didn’t expect to get it.  Â
“It took my career to a completely different height, and I wasn’t expecting that. When I was auditioning for it I just thought, ‘Okay, this is a drama, nothing hectic.â€Â Â
“When we were doing our first read-through I walked in and saw familiar faces that I would see on screen growing up, which was hectic.â€
“And then the first episode aired and it went viral, and it just carried on going viral.â€Â  Â
He tells the publication that his character has gone through what a lot of people have gone through in their lives, which is pursuing a home.Â
