The health ministry announced 1,522 new confirmed COVID-19 cases on Wednesday, bringing the total number of infections nationwide to 80,094.
Speaking at a press conference on Wednesday, the ministry’s disease control and prevention director general, Achmad Yurianto, added that 87 more people had died of the disease, bringing the death toll to 3,797.
The total number of recovered patients has also increased to 39,050.
The capital city recorded 260 new confirmed cases, bringing the total tally to 15,324. Meanwhile, Central Java reported 261 new cases, East Java 165, South Sulawesi 158, South Kalimantan 109 and North Sumatra 99.
The virus has spread to all of the country’s 34 provinces.
