Rinku, a bona fide star
It’s official now. Rinku Singh is not a one match wonder and he is here to stay. The breakout against the Gujarat Titans so many weeks ago may be a one-time event, but in subsequent matches, the lefty has proven to be KKR’s knight in shining armor, when he has been flattered by those around him. to cheat.
He is her master of chasing, adapting her game to the demands of the situation. He came up narrowly short on Saturday but it did no harm to his growing reputation as KKR scored 39 of the required 41 runs in the last two overs, his batting partner Vaibhav Arora contributing just one of them. KKR may have been knocked out of the competition, but they’ll do well to assemble their squad for future editions around Rinku.
Expectations will be much higher from the Aligarh boy from now on.

time to move on
When was the last time Andre Russell beat KKR in a game, especially with the bat? It has been a shadow of the beast that was in the pomp of it. Frequent injuries have restricted the number of overs he can bowl, and his batting is now largely confined to crosses down the line, more with hope than conviction. He doesn’t seem to have much of an idea against leg spinners, as they Ravi Bishnoi tested with a stump-flattening googly, and can also be found wanting against high-quality pacing. This season has shown that KKR persisted with their old match winner for at least one season too long. But they kept their faith in him all season when even someone like David Wiese probably could have done a better job.

Fight fire with fire
What differentiates responsible from irresponsible hitting when it comes to T20 hitting? LSG had lost three wickets, including the crucial one to Stoinis, before Krunal Pandya and Quinton de Kock perished playing the slog-sweep to Sunil Narine and Varun Chakravarthy respectively. Now with half his side gone, good luck now they were looking down on a game that could decide whether they advanced to the playoffs. Conventional, conservative wisdom would suggest that both hitters were a bit reckless in their shot selection, or at least in their execution. But incoming hitter Nicholas Pooran doesn’t seem to have a defensive bone in his body. The first three balls from him were for 4, 4 and 6, the last a one-handed straight from Chakravarthy. The West Indian followed it up with another high from the bowler’s next over. If any of those shots had gone wrong, there would have been a lot of raised eyebrows over the ‘unnecessity’ of the shot. But it’s much easier to be wise after an event.
A stunning ending to a sensational encounter! 🔥@LucknowIPL scores a win by just 1 run after Rinku Singh’s remarkable strike 🙌

Pace works for KKR
He Knight Riders of Calcutta The team’s management have made no secret of the fact that they wanted a spin-friendly wicket back home. But the curator didn’t play ball saying they weren’t obligated to meet the franchise’s demands. Instead it was KKR pace bowlers Vaibhav Arora and Harshit Rana who got some pace and bounced off the surface of Eden Gardens. The first three or four overs had the Lucknow Supergiants hitters on a tight leash, before they broke free towards the end of the Powerplay. But Arora proved there’s more to KKR bowling than just twirling, when she scalped two-on-one to dent the visitors – Aussie dismissal. marcus stoinisthe hero of the last game of LSG, with a short ball in the throat the most satisfying.
