JERUSALEM, Oct 15 (Reuters) – Israel’s communications minister stated on Sunday he was in search of a potential closure of Al Jazeera’s native bureau, and accused the Qatari information station of pro-Hamas incitement and of exposing Israeli troopers to potential assault from Gaza.
The proposal to close down Al Jazeera had been vetted by Israeli safety officers and was being vetted by authorized specialists, Shloma Karhi stated, including that he would convey it to the cupboard later within the day.
Al Jazeera and the federal government in Doha had no instant remark.
“It is a station that incites, it is a station that movies troops in meeting areas (exterior Gaza) … that incites in opposition to the residents of Israel – a propaganda mouthpiece,” Karhi advised Israel’s Military Radio.
“It’s unconscionable that Hamas spokespeople’s message goes by means of this station,” he stated, including: “I hope we’ll end with this at this time.” It was not clear if the latter assertion referred to a cupboard dialogue or implementation of a closure.
