Ivanka Trump calls Joe Biden “all talk, no action”, says father ran because of politicians like him

Ivanka Trump dismissed Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden as “all talk, no action” on Thursday night after the candidate took part in his final debate with her father President Donald Trump.

The president and the former vice president faced off in Nashville, Tennessee on Thursday, in a debate that was notably less fiery than their first debate on September 29. Ivanka Trump offered her assessment of the debate on Twitter shortly afterwards, praising her father while claiming that “politicians like Biden” had inspired him to run for president in 2016.

“My father ran for President because of politicians like Biden,” Ivanka tweeted. “All talk, no action. My father has been a leader of action who has kept his promises. He will continue to fight & deliver for ALL Americans for #4MoreYears.”

She added, “Great job Mr. President!.” accompanied by three,” alongside a picture of herself wearing a face mask.

Other Trump family members including Tiffany Trump and Eric Trump were also seen wearing masks at the debate, prompting angry reactions from some Trump supporters on social media who insist that the preventative measure does not reduce the spread of COVID-19, in contradiction to the views of the overwhelming majority of medical and public health experts.

Members of the Trump family were pictured without masks during the first debate between Trump and Biden in Cleveland, Ohio. Two days after the debate, the president announced that he and first lady Melania Trump had tested positive for the virus. Their son Barron Trump later also tested positive, along with members of the Trump administration and other prominent Republicans.

Amid sagging poll numbers that show Trump has lost ground among suburban women voters since his first run for president, Ivanka Trump has been ramping up her public appearances on behalf of the campaign during the final election stretch. She has made at least 17 campaign stops during the past six weeks, according to Politico.

“As a working mother who has dedicated her career to the improvement of women’s lives, Ivanka intrinsically understands the issues facing American families today,” Mercedes Schlapp, a Trump campaign senior adviser, told the outlet. “Ivanka Trump can speak to President Trump’s success from the perspective of both a policy adviser and close family member—a remarkably effective combination on the campaign trail.”

Ivanka Trump joined her father at a campaign fundraiser in Nashville hours before the debate. The Biden campaign reportedly started October with nearly three times the amount available to the Trump campaign, which has recently cut advertising spending in some key states the president won in 2016.

Newsweek reached out to the Trump and Biden campaigns for comment.
