LONDON — Jacob Rees-Mogg was appointed as Britain’s new business secretary in Liz Truss’ Cabinet, Downing Street announced Tuesday.
He will be responsible for Britain’s business, energy and industrial policy in his new role.
Rees-Mogg held the Brexit opportunities brief under former Prime Minister Boris Johnson, and previously led the European Research Group caucus of Euroskeptic MPs in the House of Commons.
Alok Sharma has been reappointed as COP26 president for international climate talks, Downing Street also confirmed.
