Special judge Shailendra Malik approved Fernandez’s request, stating that she needed to travel to Abu Dhabi from May 25 to 27 to attend the IIFA Awards. Special Judge Shailendra Malik of the Patiala House Courts has given her approval for Jacqueline to travel abroad. Previously, on November 15, the court had granted her bail prior to her arrest. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) recently filed an additional charge sheet where Jacqueline was named as a defendant. On September 26, the court also granted him temporary protection from her arrest.
Both Jacqueline Fernandez and Nora Fatehi, prominent Bollywood figures, have provided their testimony as witnesses in the case. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) previously seized assets and fixed deposits in the amount of Rs 7.2 crore belonging to Jacqueline. The ED classified these gifts and property as “proceeds” of crime received by the actress.
In February, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) filed an additional charge sheet against Pinky Irani, who is said to be Chandrashekhar’s associate and responsible for introducing him to Bollywood actors. The charge sheet alleged that Pinky selected lavish gifts for Jacqueline and delivered them to her residence after Chandrashekhar made the payments. The investigative agency had previously filed the initial charge sheet in December 2021 regarding this case.
Sukesh Chandrasekhar is one of the main suspects in the Rs. Rs 200 crore money laundering case being investigated by Enforcement Directorate. He is also a defendant in many other cases being investigated by the Economic Crimes Wing, the Delhi Police and the ED.
