A second A-League player has tested positive for Covid-19 in the space of a week.
After Sydney FC’s Socceroos right back Rhyan Grant returned a positive test last Tuesday, a Newcastle Jets player has also tested positive.
The player, who is fully vaccinated, became symptomatic on Monday, and returned a positive test on Tuesday.

Following the positive test, all other Newcastle players and Jets staff had PCR tests in addition to their daily rapid antigen tests.
None have returned positive tests and none have reported symptoms.
The Jets are due to meet A-League leaders Macarthur FC at Campbelltown on Sunday.
“The Jets will continue to work with the A-Leagues and NSW Health and an update regarding the upcoming weekend’s game against Macarthur FC will be provided in the next 24 hours,†a club statement said.
