JPMorgan says Southeast Asia benefits from supply chain shift

Southeast Asian markets remain attractive as the supply chain shift from China to the region will mitigate some of the impact of a slowdown in the world’s second-largest economy.

“Southeast Asia remains in a sweet spot,” Rajiv Batra, Southeast Asia and emerging markets equity strategist at JPMorgan Chase & Co., said on Bloomberg TV. China’s slowing growth will hurt exporters in Southeast Asia, but there is some cushion given the ongoing shift in the country’s supply chain to the region, he added.
