Kaizer Chiefs latest | Stuart Baxter apologizes to Amakhosi supporters

Kaizer Chiefs coach Stuart Baxter has apologized to the club supporters following their 4-1 drubbing against Royal AM at the FNB Stadium.

Chiefs went into Saturday’s clash at the Calabash as favourites to pick up maximum points but it wasn’t to be as they were humiliated by Royal AM.

Baxter admitted that his team’s effort wasn’t enough on the night before apologizing to the Chiefs supporters for the defeat.

“It’s not good enough and it’s embarrassing, and I apologize to the supporters,” Baxter told SuperSport TV after the game.

Baxter said Chiefs were back to their best in the first 30 minutes of the game, but he feels the Soweto giants lost control of the game towards the end of the first half.

“We were back to the same old. I thought for the first 30 minutes it was, we lost it towards the end of the first half,” he admitted.

“Because we started to chase the game but we had chances to score and put the game in a better position for us to play.

“But we didn’t. We were inviting them into the game. We were making very naive decisions and that takes the game over to them and then we had to chase it,” concluded Baxter.
