Kalk Bay Theatre finds new location with ocean view

The Kalk Bay Theatre has found a new location at the at Brass Bell restaurant, located in the heart of the historic fishing village of Kalk Bay, Cape Town. The theatre in Cape Town has much more comedy, dance, music and outstanding live performances in store for its guests at its brand new spot.

A brand new spot

According to Cape Town Magazine, the Kalk Bay Theatre’s stage has come back bigger and grander than you remember. With a versatile seating area and higher ceilings, the stage can be set up in different ways. The adjustable space means more extravagant acts and dance choreography. Plus, The Brass Bell restaurant is serving up a delicious menu with food and cocktails, and a stunning ocean view while you watch a show.

“Our plan is to open our doors beginning of November. Holding thumbs! Can’t wait to see you there. I forgot to mention… it has one hellova view…[sic]” the Kalk Bay Theatre said on social media.

Opening Night

It is said that the five-man singing group Man Band 2 will be there at the opening of the new Kalk Bay Theatre with a whole new set list, and their first two shows have already sold out.

“To support Cape Town’s music industry, every Sunday the theatre will welcome a brand new band. You can expect the indie-boho boy band Crosscurrent, a brilliant ‘60s throwback cover band called the McCully Show and Afrikaans pop-singer Leah van Niekerk to play their crowd-favourite songs.”

It is said that most staged productions at the Kalk Bay Theatre are created by FollowSpot Productions. FollowSpot is the in-house production company run by husband and wife duo, Ash Searle and Vanessa Harris. The performances are wildly energetic, crowd-pleasing and always pushing the boundary of the space where they perform. Combining their talents in music, dance, comedy and cirque style, they bring to life shows that keep you captivated from beginning to end, and leave you wanting more.
