Kamala Harris says she’s ‘worried’ about voter turnout ahead of 2024 election

vice president kamala harris declared that she is “concerned” about electoral participation when she seemed to knock on the door republicans for proposing and passing “unapologetically” laws that make it difficult to vote.

In an interview with msnbc welcome the Rev. Al Sharpton Released Saturday, Harris weighed in on whether he’s concerned about turnout, especially among blacks, ahead of the 2024 presidential election.

“I’m always concerned about turnout, whatever election we’re talking about. Because, at a time when we thank everyone for what they did to participate in 2020, let’s appreciate that it takes an effort to turn out to vote,” said Harris, commenting on the “obligations” of those who work various jobs and take Childcare

The vice president went on to explain that the people who have the “highest stakes” in elections are often those who are least likely to afford to take time out of their day to cast their ballots.

“I am concerned because I also know that there has been a lot of effort and laws have been passed to try to make it difficult for people to vote,” she later said.

“I mean, can you imagine, Rev? In the United States of America, we went through all these struggles, the March on Washington, John Lewis, all of that, and these so-called leaders who are so bold as to unapologetically propose and pass laws to make it harder for Americans. . people to vote The gall,” he added.

“I’m concerned that we’re going to have to do everything we can to remind people why it’s important and also fight those people who are trying to make it difficult,” Harris said of the vote.
