Several players from Pakistan’s 2023 World Cup team, including captain Babar Azam, have shared their verdict on Hyderabadi Biryani versus Karachi Biryani.
The team landed in India last week for the 2023 World Cup and played two warm-up matches against New Zealand and Australia in Hyderabad.
The Pakistan team enjoyed a dinner in Hyderabad where they were able to enjoy a variety of cuisines.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) shared a video on its Instagram account of Pakistan players sharing their experience at the Hyderabad Biryani and how it compares to the one in Karachi.
Biryani is a dish that has been enjoyed for centuries in the Indian subcontinent, and is something that is loved equally by people from all walks of life in India and Pakistan.
While Captain Babar Azam felt that both versions of biryanis tasted equally delicious, he found the Hyderabadi one to be a little spicier.
Pacer Hasan Ali bluntly stated that Hyderabadi biryani was better than Karachi.
Teammates Imam ul Haq and Haris Rauf did not choose one over the other, but both rated the Hyderabad version highly.
