Two railway police officers arrived in Noida and Ghaziabad in search of the suspect in the Kozhikode train fire incident.
According to the sources, the suspect has addresses in both Noida and Haryana. Apart from the railway police, the NIA and the anti-terrorist squad are also investigating the case. The police also prepared a sketch of the suspect involved in the incident.
The man was previously identified as a Noida native, the sources said. An NIA team visited Kozhikode on Sunday and inquired about the D1 compartment of the train that was set on fire, the ANI reported, citing sources. However, the NIA has not taken up the case. NIA personnel visit locations after such an incident that appears to have some link to terrorism.

At around 21:45, when the Alappuzha-Kannur Executive Express train was arriving at the Korapuzha railway bridge after crossing the city of Kozhikode, an unidentified man poured flammable liquid on a passenger and set him on fire, causing burns on at least eight people. the police said.
A suspicious bag, believed to be the defendant’s luggage, was also later found, sparking speculation about the terror angle. Police, however, have said that it does not appear to be an act of terror as of now.
Asked if there is any point of terror or extremism in the case, Kerala DGP Kerala Anil Kant said: “It is part of the investigation, only after the investigation we will know.”
