KU professor faces jail term for harassing fellow teacher | The Express Tribune


KARACHI:

A local court sentenced former University of Karachi (KU) professor Farhan Kamrani to ten years of rigorous imprisonment for sexually harassing a fellow woman peer.

The East district and sessions judge announced the verdict at the Karachi City Court. The decision was reserved after arguments were completed by both parties of the case at the last hearing.

The prosecution proved the professor guilty and further ordered the convict to pay a Rs50,000 penalty.

According to the prosecution, Farhan Kamrani created a fake Facebook account in the name of the female professor. Inappropriate pictures were also uploaded to the account and the woman professor was being harassed.

The suspect was a professor of the KU psychology department. The alleged victim lodged a case in the cybercrime wing of the Federal Investigation Agency.
