In recent months, the former soccer player has posted several tweets praising the country star’s music, and now they’re dating.
lainey wilson has a “heart like a truck” to Devlin “Duck” Hodges.
The country star marked his first red carpet with the former Pittsburgh Steelers player before 58. Academy of Country Music Awards on Sunday night, and PEOPLE can confirm that the couple is dating.
Wilson, 30, rocked an all-green flowy look with a cape, feathered shoulders and his trademark flared pants teamed with a green fedora, while Hodges, 27, rocked a casual blue suit with a white shirt, tie cake and cream cowboy hat.

Over the past few months, Hodges has posted several tweets praising Wilson’s music. “Lainey Wilson dammit she is so hot,” she wrote on Twitter in April.
The same month, the answered to a tweet from iHeartCountry that featured photos of various country musicians along with the question “Whose DMs are you sliding into?”
“Lainey Wilson…literally,” Hodges wrote.

At the end of the month, Wilson and his band wore Steelers jerseys with Hodges’ name and number during a performance, sending the athlete into a tailspin. “Really?!?! They’re lying!!! @laineywilson hello to me!!!” he wroteresponding to a fan who informed him of the moment.
“This is me screaming”, Wilson answeredto which Hodges wrote back, “OH.MY.GOD hello.”

In all, Wilson was up for six awards at this year’s ACM Awards, including Female Artist of the Year, Album of the Year for bell bottom countrySingle of the Year for “Heart Like a Truck” as well as Song of the Year, Visual Media of the Year and Music Event of the Year for “wait in the truck” featuring HARDY.
She took home Female Artist of the Year, Album of the Year, Visual Media of the Year, and Music Event of the Year.
in a interview with PEOPLE last year, he talked about all the success he’s had lately. “You know, I thought a lot of opportunities were going to come my way throughout my career,” the artist said. “I didn’t know that once I really got my feet off the ground, there would be so many opportunities and it would look like this.”
The 58th Academy of Country Music Awards will broadcast live from the Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, Texas on Thursday, May 11 at 8 pm ET/5 pm PT and will stream live exclusively on Prime Video .
