The rumours had gathered pace in the wake of the brothers’ reunion for the Live 25 Tour, which kicked off in Cardiff in July last year.

During a podcast appearance, he branded the event “virtue-signalling” and increasingly “woke.”
“I don’t like it in music little f****** idiots waving flags around and making political statements, and bands taking the stage and saying, ‘Hey guys, isn’t war terrible, yeah?'” he said.
“It’s like, ‘look play your f****** tunes and get off’.”

Oasis have twice topped the bill at the festival, headlining in both 1995 and 2004.
The band’s legacy remains formidable, with eight number one singles and eight chart-topping albums to their name.
