‘Life-threatening’ flash flood possible near Ruidoso

A flash flood warning has been issued for areas around Ruidoso through Friday afternoon. Thunderstorms producing heavy rain were observed over the Blue 2, South Fork and McBride burn scars. Rainfall rates of 0.5″ to 1″ per hour are possible. Rain falling in the burn scar will impact Rio Bonito, Eagle Creek, Cedar Creek, and Rio Ruidoso drainage areas. The National Weather Service says life-threatening flash flooding is possible.
