Kyiv awaits Russia’s response to the new version of the US plan to end Russia’s invasion. On Thursday, Ukraine launched British-made Storm Shadow missiles and domestically produced drones to strike Russian energy facilities, hitting the Novoshakhtinsk oil refinery and setting ablaze two oil storage tanks at the southern port of Temryuk. A Russian drone strike in Chernihiv (📍) killed at least two people on Christmas Day.

Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky spoke on the phone with US envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner on Thursday, after revealing details of the new US plan to end the war with Russia.

Kiyv is now awaiting Russia’s response to the new version of the US plan.
