Hundreds of NSW Police officers are again searching for missing boy William Tyrrell across new locations, based on new evidence.

Detective Chief Superintendent Darren Bennett said “a number of locations” and a “very high intensity search” are planned, and that they are searching for William’s body.

“This activity is in response to evidence we have obtained in the course of the investigation (and is) not speculative in any way,” Mr Bennett said.

There are three locations, all in the Kendall area.

9News understands archaeologists, specialists in uncovering and examining human bones, are on their way to the search site near Kendall.

William, then aged three, disappeared from his foster grandmother’s property on Benaroon Drive, Kendall, on the NSW Mid North Coast, on September 12, 2014.
