Local teen missing after reportedly being picked up by unknown driver, police seek tips

WESTMORELAND COUNTY, Pa. —

Pennsylvania State Police are looking for a 17-year-old girl who was reportedly picked up by an unknown man in Westmoreland County over a week ago.

Officials with the Westmoreland County DA’s office said 17-year-old Samantha Miscik was last seen leaving her home at 4:36 a.m. on Friday, July 24, 2026. She was reportedly picked up by an unknown man who was driving a green Subaru Outback.

Samantha Miscik is described by police as 5 feet, 4 inches, weighing 125 pounds, with red hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a black shirt and black pants.

She is said to struggle with mental health and is autistic. She also left her home without her glasses.

Pennsylvania State Police and the DA’s office stated that no license plate was obtained.

Authorities said the vehicle was last seen on Dillon Road in the Acme/Donegal area, heading north.

“She never met this person before. She has mental illness, and she’s not taking her medication,” said Ernest Miscik, the teen’s father. “And I’m concerned about her welfare.”

Samantha Miscik was said to have been dropped off in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, on July 24. She was spotted in Lancaster as recently as two days ago, state police said.

According to Ernest Miscik, he was told by police that his daughter may have met the man online. He said she does not have her cellphone with her.

“She is 17 years old, and he is 23,” Ernest Miscik told Pittsburgh’s Action News 4 Reporter Jordan Cioppa.

Ernest Miscik traveled to Lancaster over the weekend to see what he could find out.

“I spoke to a lot of homeless out there. I gave out cigarettes to get information. And what I found was she was located at the library in Lancaster. She may be on the Red Rose Transit,” Ernest Miscik said.

The Red Rose Transit Authority is a public bus system that serves Lancaster City and Lancaster County, yet Ernest Miscik feared his daughter may be out of state and in danger.

“She is incapable of taking care of herself. She’s been institutionalized. Been in many situations. I love her. She won’t be able to survive out on those streets,” Ernest Miscik said.

This isn’t the first time Samantha Miscik disappeared this year. Ernest Miscik said in March, his daughter left Latrobe amid what he alleged was an abusive living situation.

He said he found her under a bridge in Pittsburgh a few days later.

Since then, Ernest Miscik said his daughter has lived in a happy home with her grandparents in Acme.
