Lorry fire on M26 sparks huge delays leading to M25

The M26 in Kent is closed eastbound M25 J5 (Chipstead) and J2A (near Wrotham Heath) due to a lorry fire, National Highways announced during the morning of December 12.

The closure sparked delays on both the M25 and M26.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service were on the scene to extinguish the fire, and National Highways Traffic Officers were in attendance to assist with traffic management.

National Highways warned that, after the fire is extinguished, the carriageway will require debris to be cleared and the road surface to be inspected.
