From her Miss World 2000 coronation to her extensive career in Bollywood and success in Hollywood in projects like Quantico and Baywatch, Priyanka Chopra Jonas has built a passionate fan base.
The same happens with sam heughan after six seasons of being the main heartthrob on the popular Starz historical drama stranger.
The romantic comedy join forces Love again — Chopra Jonas as a children’s book author mourning the death of her fiancé and Heughan as the entertainment journalist she is unknowingly texting her late love’s phone number. (Eventually helping them bond: pop star Céline Dion, who Heughan’s journalist is profiling, playing herself and performing the songs on the soundtrack.)
Their chemistry is palpable, even if the actors admit that you can never predict these things.
“I always go in hopeful,” Chopra Jonas told us in a recent interview joined by Heughan (see above). “You know, Sam has had an incredible career as a prolific actor, he’s done incredible work before, and he has an incredible following. And that the only way he probably got there is because he’s a nice guy and he knows his job.
“He’s so professional and lovely to work with, and he’s lovely on set and upbeat and happy and positive. And that just creates circumstances for lovely scenes to happen.”
Heughan responds, “Pri is someone I’ve admired for a long time. … I knew it on day one, I mean, there’s some anticipation. He was nervous about how she was going to go and as soon as we started working, we realized that we have the same spirit and the same humor, I think too”.
“I’m more fun, but safe,” jokes Chopra Jonas.
“Slightly more fun and also competitive,” laughs Heughan.
As you can see, even her interview is a rom-com. So what are the most romantic moments of your own lives?
“Your life is a romantic comedy,” Heughan tells Chopra Jonas.
“Oh, you could say that,” he agrees. “I’ve had a lot of romantic comedy moments. my wedding (for Nick Jonaswho does a hilarious cameo in Love again) was one of them. I feel like it was really something done outside of the movies. Even I felt that. And I was on it.”
Heughan also reminds her co-star how she and Jonas met.
“It slipped into my DMs,” she says. “So romantic comedy right there.”
“And I’m trying to write my life as a romantic comedy,” Heughan proclaims. “I’m going to direct message everyone.”
