When Ariella Steinhorn was 15 years old, she was accosted by a group of teenagers at a bus stop.
After that, she began to feel that physical and sexual assault by men was almost inevitable.
In his essay Modern Love, “The slap that changed everything”, Ms. Steinhorn explains how, at age 30, she realized that she and other women deserved to move through the world freely, without fear of danger.
