Tracy Yvonne Jackson, 51, from Madison, faces charges after Huntsville police say she assaulted a man with a bat and broke into a vehicle during a dispute.
HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — A Madison woman is facing charges after police say she struck a man with a bat and broke into a vehicle during an incident Tuesday evening at an apartment complex in Huntsville.
Officers were called around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 26, to the 6400 block of Old Madison Pike for a reported burglary. Huntsville police said that when they arrived, they found a man and woman involved in a heated argument on the side of an apartment building.
Police questioned both people while they investigated the scene and later learned the man had been hit with a bat. His injuries were not considered life-threatening.
During the investigation, officers identified the suspect as Tracy Yvonne Jackson, 51, of Madison, and determined she was in a relationship with the man.
Investigators said Jackson went to the apartment looking for the man and, while attempting to gain entry, went to a vehicle in the parking lot, broke out a window and removed items inside. Police said all stolen items were later recovered.
Jackson was charged with second-degree domestic violence aggravated assault and unlawful breaking and entering a vehicle.
