Major motorway closed as horror multi-vehicle crash sparks long delays

The M6 has been closed between J11 Laney Green Interchange (Wolverhampton A460) and J10 Bentley Interchange (Walsall A454) due to a multi-vehicle collision.

West Midlands emergency services, including the police, fire service, and ambulance service, are at the scene.

Traffic is being held as an air ambulance also attends the scene.

This comes after National Highways said two lanes of the road’s northbound route have been closed after the incident between junction 27 at Wigan and junction 28 at Leyland.

The road authority added that the closure comes so “central reservation replacement works” can take place “after a collision early this morning”.
