M25 drivers are facing morning rush hour traffic chaos, with several lane closure on a busy section of the motorway and a warninng that delays are “building”. Lanes 1, 2 and 3, (of 4) are closed anticlockwise at Waltham Abbey between junction 26 and junction 25.
Drivers have been warned there are currently delays of 40 minutes on the approach, and five miles of congestion. National Highways East wrote on X: “Lanes 1,2 and 3 (of 4) are closed on the #M25 anticlockwise at #WalthamAbbey between J26 and J25 for emergency resurfacing. Works are expected to be completed later in the morning. Delays are building, currently with 40 minutes on the approach, and 5 miles of congestion.”
