Man dies after being crushed by gate in horror NSW workplace accident

A man has died after he was reportedly crushed by a gate in a horror workplace accident in New South Wales.

The incident happened at an industrial site at Berkeley, south of Wollongong, on Friday morning.

Emergency services got the call shortly after 6am and despite the efforts of paramedics the man, who was aged in his 60s, died.

Police from the Lake Illawarra district attended the scene on Berkeley Road and have launched an investigation along with SafeWork NSW.

The man has not yet been formally identified.
