Police have yet to determine the cause of the accident, and a spokesman said it was a “complicated incident”.

It’s understood the man was crossing the road, about 30 metres from traffic lights, at the intersection of Bedivere St and Meadowlands Rd, when he was hit by a car heading inbound.

A nearby cyclist and the car’s driver called triple-0.

The Courier Mail is reporting the cyclist performed CPR until emergency services arrived.

Police remain on scene and there is still some traffic disruption.

It comes after a man died while working on the roof of a veterinary clinic in Capalaba on Tuesday night.

Police are preparing a report for the coroner, and Workplace Health and Safety are investigating the circumstances of the death.
