A man has been found clinging to a navigation beacon north of Brisbane, hours after his boat ran aground.
Dramatic vision captures the moment rescuers find the 64-year-old man setting off flares atop of the structure.
No one but a dog was on board the 56-foot vessel when it was discovered at the northern tip of Bribie Island at 4pm on Tuesday, sparking a multi-agency search and rescue operation.

The RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter was dispatched at 6.15pm, working alongside the Queensland Police, Coast Guard, and Surf Life Saving Queensland.
A nearby ship spotted a man standing at the top of a navigation beacon shortly after.
The rescue helicopter rushed to the beacon and hovered over the man, keeping a light on him while waiting for police and Coast Guard boats to arrive.
The man was taken ashore on board one of the boats shortly after 7pm.
Queensland Police said in a statement the recovery of the vessel is ongoing.
