Man on bucks weekend rescued from massive car crash

A Melbourne man has been seriously injured after allegedly drink-driving while celebrating a bucks weekend.

Two police officers had to work quickly to drag the 23-year-old out of an overturned ute that was leaking fuel by Browns Road in Main Ridge on Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula at around 11pm, according to police.

The officers had to break away the ute’s smashed windscreen to rescue the man, who was seriously injured.

It is believed the ute veered off the road then crashed through a series of trees before rolling onto its side.

The man allegedly returned a positive result for alcohol when a breath test was done at the scene.

He was then taken to hospital for his injuries.
