Palestinian demonstrations and sit-ins have spread from US universities to ones overseas.
It was two weeks ago that it all started at Columbia University and since then students haven’t backed down. In fact, on Monday (29 April), students at the Ivy League institute were
suspended
after they refused to leave the encampment they had set up on campus. Even Cornell University suspended students for the same.
And these protests have gone
global
. Universities in Australia, the United Kingdom, Italy, France and others are also witnessing students and demonstrators demanding for divestment — demanding that the administration divest from investments that support weapons manufacturing and Israel amid the backdrop of the Israel-Hamas war.
