Mass fire breaks out at wheelchair manufacturing company in Gurugram

A massive fire broke out due to a short circuit at a wheelchair manufacturing company at IMT Manesar Sector 4 here on Friday.

More than 100 employees were working at the company at the time of the incident. However, they all made it out safely, according to a fire department official.

Fire Officer Narender Yadav said they received a call at 5:15 pm about the fire at Forza Medi India Private Limited at Sector 4 of IMT Manesar.

The fire department team arrived at the scene and commissioned 12 fire trucks that managed to put out the flames after two and a half hours of effort, the official said.

The fire spread rapidly from the ground floor to the first floor due to the plant’s machinery and assets. The company suffered a heavy loss in the incident, Yadav added.
