Mercedes just showed four new EVs that they plan to bring to market in the next few years

Mercedes-Benz previewed future SUVs and cars on the first day of the IAA Mobility 2021 show. A roster of all-electric models and concept cars displayed the sustainable, speedy and super luxury side of the company’s business.

The German automaker has announced plans to offer a fully electric model in every vehicle segment it sells in starting in 2022. From 2025 every model sold will be offered in pure-electric form. The company is launching three new vehicle architectures to make good on this plan.

Mercedes-Benz EQG Concept

An all-electric version of the Mercedes G-Wagon is on the way.

The EQG Concept is a near production-ready, all-electric version of the brand’s iconic boxy off-road-ready model. It retains the same 4×4 capability as a traditional G Wagon but has the advantage of the quiet ride, torque-filled pull, and zero emissions that a fully electric vehicle can offer.

The concept sports a two-tone paint finish, illuminated exterior effects, deep black grille and 22-inch alloy wheels. Mercedes has keep the SUV’s signature square looks while adding a white LED strip integrated into the front edge of the roof rack another one, in red, to the rear of the area.

Mercedes has taken the electric SUV to the next level with the new Mercedes-Maybach EQS SUV Concept. The model is a one-off that is near production quality. It blends characteristics Maybach elements like a two-tone paint finish with typical EQS furnishings and an all-electric powertrain.

The SUV’s interior features executive seating and the Chauffer Package in addition to door panels, armrests and unique appointments including white piano lacquer and deep sea blue trim designed to emotionally tie to the model to yacht life.

The seamless nature of the SUV’s body allows it to appear both muscular and refined while pushing forward sophisticated design elements like chrome-plated vertical Maybach pinstripes on the facing black panel and classic Maybach lettering on the hood.

Designers have equipped the model with a floating center console and MBUX Hyperscreen, a three-screen display. The passenger has a 12.3-inch OLED display to themselves. Round air vents with galvanized trim tie the SUV to its Mercedes counterparts.

The new Mercedes-AMG EQS offers buyers the best of electric powertrain performance alongside high-end appointments and the latest technology.

The sedan’s battery pack and two electric motors deliver 649 horsepower during traditional driving with the opportunity to drivers to momentarily boost output to 751 horsepower. The all-wheel drive car offers up to 700 pound-feet of torque. Slippery, Comfort, Indvidual, Sport and Sport+ driving modes are available for use.

Unique soundscapes, high-performance equipment, regenerative braking, and quick-charging capability make this AMG model more desirable. It also gets an AMG Performance steering wheel wrapped in Nappa leather, AMG sports pedals, AMG floor mats and door sill trims and topstitched dashboard elements.

Expectedly, the car’s tech showcases AMG-specific functions. The car’s Hyperscreen has an AMG startup screen while the entire MBUX system adapts to the driver to customize their preferred drive experience.

Pricing for the AMG EQS model has not been revealed but is expected to be well over the estimated $110,000 starting price of the EQS for U.S. customers.

The EQE executive sedan is the second model based on Mercedes premium electric vehicle architecture. Its world premiere revealed that the car has dimensions similar the existing Mercedes-Benz CLS, however its interior is more expansive and seating position is 2.5 inches higher.

Mercedes engineers have equipped the EQE with a 90-kilowatt-hour battery back that gives the car around 410 miles of all-electric range.

The first EQE to hit the market, the EQE 350, will offer drivers 288 horsepower. Future versions of the model are expected after its mid-2022 launch date.

Buyers can opt to spec their EQE with the MBUX Hyperscreen and passengers have the opportunity to control how they take in infotainment with the 12.3-inch OLED display in front of them.

The interior design of the EQE follows that of the EQS, but is ultimately less luxurious.

Pricing for the 2023 Mercedes-Benz EQE has not yet been announced.
