Shocking footage captured the moment a Mississippi lawmaker collapsed on the state Senate floor.
Lt. Gov. Delbert Hosemann, a Republican, was seen collapsing to the ground as he stood at a podium inside the chamber on Wednesday.
The 77-year-old appeared to slouched slightly, while still holding onto the podium, before his body lurched forward then fell to the ground.
Those who had gathered inside could be heard gasping and quickly running to his aid, as a recess was called.
His fall had been livestreamed on the legislative’s YouTube channel, with the video being quickly deleted.
According to WLBT News, Hosemann was quickly attended to and managed to walk back to his office after the incident.

In a statement, his office said: ‘Lt. Gov. Hosemann is doing well and in good spirits. He appreciates all of the medical staff and is eager to return to work.’
State leaders wished him well after the clip of him falling over was shared to social media.
Mississippi Governor Tate Reeves said: ‘First Lady Elee Reeves and I are praying for Lieutenant Governor Hosemann!’
Republican state Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith added: ‘I’m praying for my dear friend, Delbert Hosemann.’
Attorney General Lynn Fitch posted: ‘My friend Delbert Hosemann is tough as nails. Praying for a speedy recovery.’
