TOKYO-Mitsui O.S.Ok. Strains, Ltd. (MOL) and JX Nippon Oil & Gasoline Exploration Company (JX) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to develop a Carbon dioxide Seize and Storage (CCS) worth chain between Japan and Australia, together with marine transport of carbon dioxide (CO2).
The MoU focuses on the institution of a CCS worth chain by capturing CO2 emitted from ENEOS refinery and close by numerous industries in Japan, transporting it by CO2 service to the Port of Bonython in Australia, and injecting and storing it on the chosen storage web site.
Moreover, MOL and JX will collectively conduct the next research:
- To pick a liquefied CO2 service appropriate for circumstances at ports in Japan and Australia and the anticipated CO2 transport distance and quantity, and estimation of marine transport prices
