Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah has generated significant attention following sexual harassment allegations made by Jennifer Mistry Bansiwal, who plays Roshan Sodhi, against producer Asit Kumarr Modi. Adding to the series of developments, actress Monika Bhadoriya, known for her role as Bawri, left the show in 2019 and shared her experience in a recent interview. She described her time on the show as “hell” and claimed that the producers withheld payment from her, along with Gurucharan Singh and Raj Anadkat, as a way of tormenting them.

During an interview with Hindustan Times, Monika Bhadoriya revealed that the producers of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah withheld her pay for a period of three months after her departure from the show. She said: “I have been fighting for my money for over a year. They have taken money from all artists be it Raj (Anadkat), Gurucharan (Singh) Bhai just to torture them. Unke paas paise ki kami nahi hai”.
Bhadoriya shared that her mother was battling cancer at the time, but the show’s creators showed a lack of support and understanding. “I would spend the night in the hospital and they would call me early in the morning for a session. Even if I said I’m not in the right state of mind, they would force me to come. The worst part was that even after I started shooting, I expected, mere kuch kaam hi nahi hota tha,” she shared.
Following the passing of her mother due to deteriorating health, the actress received a call from producer Asit Kumarr Modi. Ella Monika revealed: “She was in trauma, but she only called me seven days after my mother died, asking me to report on the set. When I said that she was not fit, her team said: ‘Hum aapko paisa de rahe hai, hum jab chahe aap ko khada hona padega chahe aap ki Mummy admit ho ya koi’. I went on set because I had no choice and just cried every day. Upar se unka torture and misbehave bhi karte the. They called me to the set an hour before the time of the call.
