Mother-of-four’s body found by teens in Queensland

The body of mother-of-four has been found in bushland in north Queensland.

A group of teenagers discovered the 44-year-old’s body near Jaloonda Road in Bluewater, about 27 kilometres from Townsville on Saturday afternoon.

Detectives are treating her death as suspicious and said her attacker has not been found.

Police have not said how she died, but said a weapon was used in the alleged attack.

Queensland Police Detective Acting Inspector Jason Shepherd said the woman died at that location, and said she may have gone there with her attacker.

“It does appear that she would have known who her attacker was, they probably went to that location together,” he said.

The woman has four children, aged between 14 and 24, who don’t live in the area.

“We don’t believe that it is directly related to domestic and family violence on this occasion,” Shepherd said.

Police said they will know more after an autopsy this week.

Anyone who was in the area at this time that may have information, CCTV or dashcam footage is urged to contact police or Crimestoppers.
