Everything was falling into place. At 17 I became a mother. I have my own Mercedes. I didn’t even understand the meaning of success at that time. I used to get happy seeing my face on the big screen.” Moushumi is married to Jayanta Mukherjee.
Speaking about how she belonged to a conservative family, the actress said that she did not feel comfortable when people used to hug and greet each other. She said: “Once, my husband’s friend even made fun of me saying that I am very conscious and my mind is not clear. I was like, why should I needlessly hug and kiss? It’s not even our culture.”
She added, “After packing, I don’t want an actor to keep his hand on my shoulder. Once, my husband’s friend tried to put his hand on my waist. I was like ‘No!’ He said: ‘But her husband has put his hand around my wife’s waist.’ I said, ‘It’s because your wife has allowed it, but I haven’t.’
