Navjot Sidhu Says His Security Dropped, Calls Mann ‘Most Protected CM’

Congress Leader Navjot Singh Sidhu on Monday called Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann the “most protected CM” when he clashed with the AAP government over the law and order situation in the state and also claimed that your security has been pruned.

Sidhu further criticized the Mann government for pruning the security of murdered singer Sidhu Moosewala and also going public.

Sidhu visited Moosewala’s parents in Mansa district and expressed regret over the killing of the Pujabi singer in May last year. Moosewala was among the 424 people whose security was temporarily cut by the Punjab police.

The cricketer-turned-politician was released from Patiala Central Jail on Saturday after serving nearly 10 months in a 1988 road rage case.

Addressing the media here, Sidhu attacked the Mann government on the issue of law and order in the state, saying it was the first responsibility of any government to ensure it.

“Are they (the government) supposed to protect or commit crimes?” Sidhu asked with Moosewala’s parents at his side.

Referring to Moosewala, Sidhu said: “He was a world star. Why was his security pruned? Has it ever happened when you lowered security and made it public? There is no such rule.” “What happened to him (Moosewala), the same is happening to another Sidhu today. I don’t care,” he said, stating that the Z Plus security he previously obtained has now been reduced to 13 people.

“Today, I have 13 security men with me. Because? … Sidhu must remain immobilized and he cannot leave his house and he must not tell the truth,” he stated.

“I want to say that I am not afraid of death,” he said.

He said he won’t stop talking pruning about his safety. “Forget it, you can’t suppress the voice of truth by retiring a bulletproof vehicle. Punjab understands and is watching,” she said.

The Congress leader claimed that Prime Minister Mann used to say what was the need for security men. “Today you are the most protected CM. When he passes his cavalcade, the vehicles cannot be seen in the dust,” he said as he did some digging at the CM.

Sidhu further criticized the CM for seeking out paramilitary forces from the Center.

“Now my friend, you have brought 50 companies (of the paramilitary force). What a mega deal you signed,” he asked Mann.

Sidhu said that the crime rate is skyrocketing in the state. “What will be its impact? The investments, of which you speak, are only on paper. Nobody will come, ”he said.

Sidhu said that he had heard that the CM once said that he would bring foreigners to work in Punjab. “Dude, your own children are outside,” he said, punching the CM.

He also said that former IPS Kunwar officer Vijay Pratap Singh who is now AAP MLA was now speaking out against them.

Sidhu said the gang members, who are in police custody, are political pawns and were used to fulfill political motives.

“The gangsters are political pawns and someone else is pulling the strings,” he said, criticizing the government for deploying heavy security for gangsters when they are brought into court for hearings.

He also raised questions about security at the jail facility, referring to an alleged TV interview by gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, saying the state government has 2G mobile jammers in jails while gangsters have 5G mobile phones. “And then they run their interviews,” he said.

Referring to the murder of Moosewala, Sidhu said that the use of sophisticated weapons in the crime was a conspiracy to smear Punjab and also prove that there was no law and order in the state.

He alleged that prisons have become ‘suvidha centers’, or convenience points, for crime because politicians use young people who have gone astray.

Moosewala’s father, Balkaur Singh, also raised the issue of Bishnoi’s interview on a TV channel, saying no action has been taken on the matter so far.
