Readers will remember the high profile case of Aryan Khan when he was arrested for drug possession by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in 2021. Now an officer named Vishwa Vijay Singh who is the superintendent of NCB has been fired. If the reports are to be believed, Singh was a key member of the team that carried out a raid on the Cordelia cruise ship in Mumbai in which they allegedly took down a drug deal.
NCB officer involved in Aryan Khan drug case fired
Recent reports have suggested that NCB authorities ordered an investigation against Vishwa Vijay Singh in connection with a different case in April 2022 and he was suspended. According to an NCB official, the findings of the investigation led to the officer’s dismissal. As for the Aryan Khan case, Singh played a major role in arresting the child star. Singh not only accompanied Sameer Wankhede during the raid on the Cordelia cruise ship, but also led a team of officers when they visited Shah Rukh Khan’s palatial Mumbai residence, Mannat, in connection with the drug raid investigation.
Regarding the case, readers will recall that Sameer Wankhede and his team arrested seventeen high-profile names in connection with the case and allegedly seized 13g of cocaine, 22 ecstasy (MDMA) pills, 21g of marijuana and 5 grams of mephedrone along with Rs. 1.33 lakhs during his raid. Among them was also Aryan Khan, who was finally given bail on October 28. Later, the star boy was given a clean note due to a lack of evidence. Following certain discrepancies during the raid, as well as providing witnesses with criminal records, the NCB Mumbai team was placed under surveillance investigation in November 2022. Following the investigation, the department ordered action against seven officers, while maintaining their anonymity.
